A match of hydrating and absorbing properties

The match of hydrating and absorbing properties (1) supports natural autolytic debridement and moist wound healing (2).

Easy to apply

The applicator ensures a controlled, easy and aseptic application using just one hand. The gel can be removed by rinsing.

Minimized leakage and maceration

The viscous texture of the gel makes it stay in place and even after absorption of debris and exudate, the gel will remain cohesive and counteract leakage and maceration.

Mode of action

Purilon® gel hydrates necrotic tissue and absorbs excess exudate, slough and debris from the wound.

Composition

Purilon® gel consists of purified water, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, and calcium alginate. Purilon® is a very gentle product since the gel consists of natural ingredients without any additives.

Usage

Purilon® gel is indicated for dry and sloughy necrotic wounds as well as wounds with a mix of necrotic and granulated tissue such as leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, non-infected diabetic foot ulcers and it may be used on 1st and 2nd degree burns. The gel may be used throughout the healing process to provide a moist healing environment. Purilon® Gel should be used in conjunction with a secondary dressing.

Easy to handle and easy to use

Physiotulle® does not stick to gloves and scissors when applied. Its thin and flexible structure makes it an ideal contact layer for a broad range of exuding wounds.

Comfort and protection

The hydrocolloid and petrolatum components ensure that the dressing does not dry out or stick to the wound bed resulting in atraumatic removal.

Supports faster healing (1)

When in contact with wound exudate, the dressing absorbs the exudate and ensures a moist wound healing environment (1,2).

Mode of action

When in contact with wound exudate, the petrolatum and hydrocolloid, carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), particles swell to form a cohesive gel which helps maintain a moist healing environment supporting faster healing (1,2).

Composition

Physiotulle consists of a knitted polyester net impregnated with CMC particles suspended in petrolatum.

Usage

Physiotulle® is indicated for low to highly exuding chronic and acute wounds: superficial burns, donor sites, post operative wounds, skin abrasions, pressure ulcers and leg ulcers. Can be used with a broad range of absorbent secondary dressings and also under compression therapy.
