Ketoconazole is an antifungal agent that works by preventing the growth of dandruff-causing fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering. Coal tar belongs to a class of drugs known as keratoplastic, which works by removing dead cells from the skin’s top layer and slowing down skin cells' growth.
